What equipment do I need to make a laptop wirelessly connect to a satellite internet connection?

I'm being forced by my location to go with a satellite internet connection to upgrade from dialup service. However, I'd like to be able to connect to it from anywhere in my home from my laptop, without having to worry about connecting an ethernet line from the satellite modem to my laptop. I'm told it can be done, but can get no clarifications on the items I would need. I'd like to know what equipment (Speaking generally,) I would need to allow my laptop to connect wirelessly to my satellite internet connection.
