Ps3 internet connection help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I recently bought a new internet connection(you telecom maharashtra,pune).But it seems the ps3 is not establishing the internet connection.Its a dialup connection.I log on on the pc and then take out the ethernet cable from the modem and then plug it into the back of the ps3.But it says ip address could not be obtained.pls help
